Mr. Tiffany Jonesの日本からのお土産が日本人形ではなかったので、２つの人形はがっかりした。
Nonaは裕福そうでおしゃれなGemを羨ましく思っていた。しかし実はそうではなく、彼女は哀れでいつもMatsonに見張られていたのだ。姉妹はなぜ彼女が不幸なのかを悟る。クリスマスプレゼントにもらったローラースケートで遊んでいるとGemにぶつかり怪我をおわせてしまう。次の日からGemは学校に来なくなった。Mr. Tiffany Jonesは彼女は頭がいいから他の学校に行ったと説明するが・・・

イギリスの第二次世界大戦前後の子供と警察に対する接し方には違いがある。

戦前は親に代わって家政婦などが母親に代わって子供の世話をしていた。
それは政府が彼らを援助していたからである。
戦後、しだいに母親が子供の世話をするようになり、子供も一人の人間として扱われるようになった。第二次世界大戦前、警察は市民からとても尊敬されていたが、戦後は市民派という信頼性はなくなり、彼らの友好関係は複雑化している。

mini講義

Enid Bloytonはイギリスの女性作家。児童向けの作品が多い。
１９６０年代に死ぬ。
ノナ、ブレンダ、ミスハピネス、ミスフラワー、この家族は他の本にも登場する名前。
Enid Bloytonの作品には同じ名前のキャラクターが出てくるが
しかしKizzyはDidakkoiのみに出てくる。
一番有名な作品は「ガールズスクール」。
TVドラマとなりニュージーランドで放映された。

A lot of gypsies live by the recreational vehicle, and are moving. The gypsy is generally many children. And, it doesn't have an influence on one's management of politics because it is not settled like the Jew. So,they were always discriminated. There are number of gypsies slaughtered by Nazi from 500,000 to as many as one million people. Do not think about the gypsy problem as a problem of another country.

The Diddakoi

Kizzy is a child of mixed blood that was the born between a Romany father and an Irish mother. However, parents died and she was brought up by her Romany grandmother . She was bullied at the school. However, she was satisfied with the living with the grandmother. The grandmother also died one day. Kizzy is supported by surrounding person though is bullied and it lives.

This book was written about little girl's racial discrimination. And I was taught "I must have courage" by this book. The message that this little girl had passed an was very important. I was impressed by the her soul that she lived importance in "Individuality".
